The City of Victor Harbor is delighted to announce the return of Care Vaughan as the new Victor Harbor Artisan Market Manager.
As a key figure in the creation and early success of the Artisan Markets nearly a decade ago, Care’s return brings renewed energy, creativity, and a strong vision for the market’s future.
Care was integral to the start-up of the Artisan Market in 2015, helping establish it as a vibrant cultural hub for the community. Her background as an artist, writer, and musician has shaped her unique approach to crafting spaces that foster creativity and showcase local talent.
Over the three years as volunteer Artisan Market Coordinator, she nurtured a space for artisans, poets, musicians, and small businesses, transforming the Artisan Market into a cherished event for locals and visitors alike.
City of Victor Harbor Mayor Dr. Moira Jenkins expressed her excitement about Care’s appointment.
“Care’s dedication and creative vision were foundational in establishing the Artisan Market. Having her back at the helm is wonderful news. Her proven experience and passion for the arts community make her a perfect fit to revitalise this beloved event, and we look forward to seeing the new energy she brings,” she said.
Care will be building upon the solid foundations laid by outgoing Market Manager Rojina Duval, who recently resigned.
Care said she looked forward to honouring Rojina’s legacy while introducing fresh perspectives to continue the market’s growth.
“Being part of the market’s journey from the start was an incredibly rewarding experience. I’m so excited to return and bring new ideas to continue supporting our local artists and small businesses while creating a lively and inclusive space for our community and visitors,” she said.
